The budding David Attenborough strikes again!

I love the New Forest!

This is taken on my commute home.

Sam having a crack at surfing.
I think a bit of practice is required!

We would like to thank Rob at the Haven Bar and Bistro for all his support thus far and for the future.

THANKS ROB!

Sam and Chris swimming for British Heart Foundation

Well, it appears that Chris and I have now signed up to do the Bournemouth Pier to Pier swim.

Yes that's right, 1.4miles of offshore unchartered water ...... well, 300meters off the beach with hundreds of other people joinin in too, at least.

After finishing in the top quarter last year Chris is hoping to better his time this year "I really enjoy phisical challenges, I am planning on doing a triathlon later on in the year so this is excellent training".

Me? I just really like swimming, so thought I'd give it a crack and raise some money for charity in the process. I am thinking that I should probably go and visit the swimming pool sometime soon though!

Some really great historical Lymington pictures

Whilst I was browsing around I discovered this great archive of local photographs.

Photographs of Lymington, Hampshire, UK in the 1950's.

They are from the archives of Francis Smith Publishers who have been in business since 1860.

Wonder if anyone will look at my web pictures in 150 years time !

The day the rain came

Monday 10th March

The weather on Monday was absolutely atrocious here in the south and combined with Spring high tide meant that Lymington Quay had a bit of a flood to contend with! Have a look at the picture and note that the water level is right up to the seats on the benches. The white van man was well prepared with alternative means of getting home! Here in the office we’re up the hill a bit though so we were ok whilst indoors! The journey home was another story!
